Vancouver West End
These photos were taken in the neighbourhood we stayed in. We had just a few hours to spend before our flight to Trail so we lent bicycles from our hotel and headed off across the Burrard bridge to the snowboard shops on West 4th Ave… (I was in great need of snowboard pants)

The Burrard Hotel
In Vancouver we stayed at this really cool hotel… The fun thing was that we booked it through a site where you don’t know what hotel you’re booking (that’s how they can give extra good deals) - and it turned out to fit us so perfectly. It was called “The Burrard”. This was the sign to our floor. In this really neat retro room there, postcards were lying on...

Vancouver!
I’m in Canada! Stayed one night in Vancouver. Pretty jetlagged, I took these photos early in the morning when we were out hunting for breakfast.

Did you celebrate Valentine's day yesterday?
Well one dude called Payam in San Fransisco surely did..!: Using his smartphone, a GPS app, his bicycle and a heart as big as… well as big as San Francisco, Payam took this ride for his partner, Clare. She’s in Toronto so they won’t be able to spend the holiday together but he wanted to create his valentine in a unique way.  “I recently moved to San Francisco from Toronto...

horsey!
I have a friend who loves horses. She is also looking for a bicycle. So, she was very excited when she found this and sent it to me. So what IS this??? These attachable ornaments are called “Horsey”, and is made by Eungi Kim from Korea (South Korea i assume) and took part in the Seoul cycle design competition 2010. “I wanted to give a special look to bicycles so...

A year ago my man and I was roadtrippin in New Zealand.  This was the first sign that showed up when we drove into Gisbourne. And this was the second:

“This is how Malmö council treat their city cyclists. The hard working commuters, who take the train from here, don’t have room to put there bicycle in a stand. So they place it next to it, hoping it won’t be in anyones way. Then these people come and steal them.” Well this is very sad and stupid. It’s kind of obvious that the supply and demand is unbalanced...

Happy DOG!
I’ve been horse riding today with my friend Ellie. This is Ines, she showed us the way through the woods.  Off topic? Perhaps but I do think a post about horse riding works well under this blog’s name…

PARTY CYCLING
This past saturday I ended up at a house dinner with very-long-time-no-see friends, and it turned into a little party. It was so nice. I realized I’ve forgotten some important details in my life, like that time I had a mixed tape-exchange-party at my parents house (oh I remember the party but not the tape bit). So we dug out some old mix tapes from forgotten times and admired the cover...

roll it fold it roll it fold it.
This is Henrik, I met him through the wonders of Facebook acquaintances. His family run the old bicycle shop in Gamla Stan in the heart of Stockholm. Henrik and his brother grew up among veteran cars and bicycles, and I went to speak to them in the shop. If you’re wondering if there were things to take photos of the answer is OH YES. It’s the kind of bike shops that’s...

Anonymous asked: Hello, I'm Anthony, i read blogs like yours to satisfy my craving for all things "not so american". Here in my tiny town of Copperopolis (named after a big copper mine of the early 1900s) California, i ride my bike for running errands and to explore the old roads, to follow the bird and bugs and to learn how to be present here and now.

WHY I BIKE #1
This is my top reason why I bike in the city. I hate to feel like kettle, whether it’s on the tube, on a bus or in a car. My blood and mind simply run smoother on two wheels.

WHEELS IN SWEDISH MUSIC VIDEOS #2
Here’s another wheely good video. The debut single Strawberry from Adrian Lux. Don’t know who actually directed and filmed it but this video also take place in the countryside. I biked to remixes of Strawberry during the amazing Sweden to Portugal trip 2009, and yes the video sure makes me eager to summer ride again. And to eat strawberries.

WHEELS IN SWEDISH MUSIC VIDEOS #1
dir: Mats Udd dop: Johannes Helje This beautiful video is filmed by Johannes Helje. I was at his and Emma Svensson’s 2 Year Studio-Birthday Party this weekend, and there it was, projected on one of the walls. Yummy. The filming was done this summer at Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic sea. Nice song by The Concretes, too. P.S THANK you guys for a great party!

Mustaches for the bikes?
There is something about a mustache. And don’t think that it’s only the hipsters who are on it. My friends have had a hung-up on fake mustaches for years, here are some good old pics: Maria and Hanna in a bar, 2008. Filippa, Christmas 2008. I found this mustache machine in a simple town in Malaysia. 50 Malaysian cents each. (I wonder what that girl in the middle did to hers,...

crazy times (or how to lose all your photos)
It’s crazy times when your external hard drive collapses and you keep all photos you’ve ever taken on it. Even crazier is that when you’re then looking to buy a new hard drive they say the factories have been destroyed due to the horrible floodings in Thailand. An accident seldom comes alone, as we say in Sweden. Thank god my hard drive was intact and could be fixed this...

1:a advent
Today is a special day in Swedenland: It’s the first sunday out of four before Christmas.  We had some friends over to celebrate it.  We had gone to bed at 3 AM this morning after a late concert photoshoot but managed to clean the house and have brunch with scones (HALLELUJAH) before the guests arrived. We’re lacking the classic adventsljusstake so this is our alternative...

La Photocabine
When I’m in Berlin me and my friends love to take group photos in one of all those old photo booths… Funnily enough, now there’s a web page where you can do it online, in La Photocabine. Then you can save it, print it, share it or post it as a real postcard. It’s not the same of course. But best part is, you don’t have to put in any coins and it doesn’t ever...

People riding bicycles are happier than people sitting on bus and car seats. I won’t make a list today of “why”. But simply put: It’s not in the human beings nature to sit through life. (And, like all other animals on earth, the human beings love a little sense of freedom and don’t like to be trapped in a cage.) And if this applies to cyclists in general,...

PAPILLIONAIRE BICYCLES makes Australia roll the...
Ever thought of trying something new in your life? A few weeks ago i got an e-mail from an Aussie guy named Alan. Alan left his career in corporate finance to follow his creative ideas. In other words, he started to design bicycles and opened up a bike store. He and his sister now run the brand - Papillionaire Bicycles - in Melbourne. He wondered if I’d like to make guest posts on...

HOME IS WHENEVER I'M WITH U.
yihaa, here’s a film i put together last nite showing me and my man’s little autumn ride the past weekend. i don’t go out riding for the sake of riding that often but now we hit the woods. he’s on the bike i got when i was 11. it’s still going strong, has 5 gears and is oh so useful (bicycles with handlebars like this never get stolen in sweden, as thieves seem to...

speaking of my last post! found the swedish paper EXPRESSEN recently had an article about the same (and very complicated) subject “what to wear and what to ride”, about how to match your bike and your clothes. they’ve asked fashion experts who kindly inform how you can look stylish on your bike, what bike goes with what outfit, how the danish “pose with their bikes”...

there’s a lot of talking out there about cycling, what to wear and what to ride. there are certain “bike cafés” and accessories (like put your wine bottle in this wine bottle shaped carrier, put your ipad in this special cycle bag, use this special suit when you ride, use this stand to put your bicycle bag on at work (!), and so on) well this confuses me, what if i want to...
